Where are you located?

We are located on the north side of Detroit Ave (between Warren and Cook) in the First Federal Lakewood building.

Do you have parking?

Yes. There is a large municipal lot with metered parking directly behind us with over 100 spots (the meters are not monitored weekdays after 5 and on weekends). You can enter through the back, just past the First Federal Lakewood drive-thru.

Is Deagan’s a chain?

No. Deagan’s is an independent, single establishment. The owners are on-premise every day. You can usually find one of them running food, bussing tables and/or seating guests.

Do you take reservations?

We accept reservations for parties of eight or more.

What is a “gastropub”?

A gastropub is a British term for a pub which specializes in high-quality food a step above the tradition pub grub. The name is a combination of pub and gastronomy and was coined in 1991 when David Eyre and Mike Belben opened a pub called The Eagle in Clerkenwell, London that placed an emphasis on the quality of food served. Gastropubs have an atmosphere which is relaxed and a focus on offering a particular cuisine prepared as well as the best restaurants. Staying true to the format requires a menu that complements the assortment of beers and wines the gastropub offers.

Do you have a kids’ menu?

Yes. Our kids’ menu features burgers, wings, chicken fingers, mac-n-cheese, hot dogs, and grilled cheese sandwiches. While those items may sound like typical family restaurant fare, we strive to serve our young patrons food of the same exceptional quality we provide our adult clientele.

Is Deagan’s family-friendly?

Yes. We have everything that a parent would need while dining out with their family, including kids’ menus, booster seats, high chairs, baby changing station, and beer.

What is your dress code?

We are a casual restaurant that doesn’t have a standard dress code. Our customers come in suits, jeans, t-shirts, dresses, and softball uniforms. We believe that your outfit shouldn’t hinder you from having fantastic food and great beer.

What restaurants were in this location before?

The restaurant that most of our customers remember is Barnacle Bill’s, but this spot has also hosted Cleats, Crazy Rita’s, Clark’s, Dante’s Comedia, and a few others.

Where did the mural on the wall come from?

The mural was discovered during demolition when Dan Deagan was removing what he believed to be drywall.  After noticing that the “drywall” ripped more easily than the rest, he realized that it was actually a painted canvas that had been flipped over and nailed to the wall during a past renovation.
